It is Thanksgiving Day Today!!!

It's my first time to have Thanksgiving Day.
I had dinner with my host mom's family and enjoyed eating turkey, Brussels sprouts, pumpkin pie, and so on.
I love turkey, Brussels sprouts or other stuff, but to be honest, her cakes are too sweet for me...
However it was precious time for me in my life.
I'm looking forward to turkey soup that is made from the rest of turkey!!!!

And at last, I wanna say a word of thanks.
Thank you soooo much for every day, my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
And also Thanks, my friends in Japan and friends I met here.
I really appreciate a wonderful meeting with everyone.

I forgot to say what I have to on the last blog...
The day before yesterday, there was the first snow of the year.
Also till yesterday it had been snowing.
So yesterday the school was closed after lunch.
Even for us it was sooooo fun to play in the snow!!!!

And today the school was closed all day.
So I went walking around my house for more than 2 hours:-)
I took a lot of pictures of beautiful pieces of scenery with snow.
However I'm so sorry but I can't upload new pictures for some reasons...

Tomorrow the school might be open but it is the last day in this week because of Thanksgiving Day.
I'm looking forward to seeing my friends tomorrow as well as having Thanksgiving Day.

Honeymoon

Yesterday I went to 'Gas Works Park'.
There is an old works which hasn't been used for long days.

It was soooo cooooool!!!!
When I came back home, I told my mom yesterday's news.
Then my mom said that 28 years ago my parents visited the same place for honeymoon.
I was soooooo surprised and also delighted.
I could have same scenery with my parents beyond times.
I wanna go again when it clears.

And I wanna ask you a question.
"If you have to describe your life in one word, what would it be?"
My friend asked us of this question on Twitter.
I also wanna ask the people around me.
If you have time, please comment.

Childish

Please look at this video.

I was shocked at not only the content of her speech but also her behavior.
She looks rather dignified than nervous.
I cannot admit that she is only twelve years old.
There are a lot of points that I have to model on hers.
However I think she should become more ‘childish’.

lol (corrected the errors)

It has been a long time;;
I'm sorry for being in arrear with writing blog.
I took a TOEFL PBT yesterday.
And also I got an unofficial score on the test.
Then, If the score is correct, I can take credit classes in next quarter.
I am relieved now but actually I am not satisfied with the score.
I feel frustrated because I think the score is worse than I expected.
I must have studied as well as possible.

I might take TOEFL iBT, and so I wanna take revenge on TOEFL!!!!

hottest news!!!

Do you remember that yesterday I mentioned about e-books or paper-less society?
I've just found this article.
It is said that a monthly magazine 'U.S. News & World Report' will not be published and sift to only digital device in January, 2011.
This magazine publishes America's Best College Report once a year.
I was surprised at this article because we had just listened to the presentation about this issue and we discussed today.
This article said the shift is against the fall in sales, but I think it can contribute to the environment.

The paper-less society doesn't mean that we can't use paper.
It means that we have to reduce as much paper as possible, such as coffee cups, paper bags and tickets.
Think about trees when we use paper, and it becomes impossible for us to use a lot of paper.

2010/11/04

Today in class my friends gave a presentation about 'paper-less society'.
I am quite interested in this issue.
Especially in developing countries deforestation is proceeding.
One of the reason for deforestation is a waste of paper.
However recently e-books have come out, such as iPad and Kindle.
Even if it is said that e-books might not be good for health, they can help reduce the amount of paper.
In my opinion we should use an e-book for reading or studying.
And also we should minimize the amount of paper we use, because we can't achieve never to use paper in our life, such as toilet paper.
I have to endeavor to reduce the amount of using paper and to use the back of paper.
Many a little makes a mickle!!!

Dear Aunt Miwako,
I think the museum in Texas you said is 'Kimbel Art Museum', isn't it?
I have been there about 8 years before, but I forgot how nice it was. I wanna go there again someday.
And it is hard to explain what 'pineapple upside-down cake' is in English. To put it briefly, before baking sliced pineapples are under the container. After baking the cake is turned upside down. Doen it make sense?
Thank you very much for sending me an email.

あのカップケーキは実は、青いのはクリームだけで、中のケーキは真っ赤だったんです。一応チェリー味だったと思いますが、その中にはクリームチーズらしきものも入っていました。私の友だちは外国人も含めて、みんな残していましたよ;;

I will send you emails with URL when I make a photo album on the web site.
So please wait for a while...

bruise...

A blue bruise was made in my wrist.
Of course I never received cruel treatment here..
The reason of the bruise is a frisbee.
I played with a frisbee today after a week or more.
But I love playing ultimate and I might be used to pain.

I wanna play more and more as long as the sky clears up.
